Welcome to the Airglades Airport Environmental Assessment Website!

Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Hendry County has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed privatization and subsequent development of a 10,000-foot air cargo runway and related cargo and aircraft maintenance facilities at the Airglades Airport.  The privatization of the Airglades Airport is being considered by the FAA as part of the agency’s Airport Privatization Pilot Program (APPP). The Final EA was submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the agency’s decision to either prepare an Environmental Impact Statement or issue a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). On October 17, 2017, the FAA issued its FONSI and a Record of Decision (ROD).

As part of the EA process, Hendry County also implemented a Public Involvement Program to provide information on the project and encourage public participation in the EA process.  You will be able to find the following information on this website:
